The Bad News first… It is time for me to step down as Administrator of Taraji-Henson.com. When I started the site I wanted to help support an actress whom I thought to be extremely talented and woefully under exposed. So I used my free time to work a little magic and viola… Here you are at Taraji-Henson.com.
Unfortunately that well of free time has dried up and I simply don’t have it to dedicate to the site as I would like. So with that, if there is anyone out there who would like to Administer this site, feel free to contact me to discuss. It would be ideal for you to have some web experience such as writing/posting for a blog and resizing pictures etc. It would be my pleasure to pass the baton.
The Good News... Taraji is now on Twitter! So now you can go and follow her to get all the details of what is going on in her world directly from the source! Gosh… you gotta love the internet. She seems to be taking well to twitter and the community loves her.
It was a pleasure good people… be well!
xoxo

After a 2 year hiatus, Taraji and Terrence Howard are to co-host the Sooooooul Train Music Awards.
Record executive Antonio “L.A.“ Reid, singers Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Chaka Khan and Charlie Wilson will be honored on the two-hour music special to be taped in Atlanta and premiere in November.
I used to LIVE for Soul Train when I was a kid. Catch the Soul Train for a bit of nostalgia : http://www.soultrain.com/
Taraji fan Maya strikes again with a few more tidbits for us. Thanks Maya!
“Still, Howard University just announced that alumnus Taraji P. Henson who has been taking Hollywood by storm will be this year’s grand marshal on Oct. 24, an honor bestowed on Terrence Howard and Ice Cube in the past…“ - check it out : http://bit.ly/Ylh9m
Billy Bush seems like a pretty decent and nice guy. The birthday intro is sweet and in the full interview they seem very comfortable with each other. Enjoy!
For those who missed Tyler Perry’s “I Can Do Bad… “ Special on TBS here is the Taraji interview. Enjoy! (The clip starts off a little rough but gets better after 20 seconds. - If anyone knows of a better quality clip, please let me know. Thanks!)

Check out this mini-interview edited form the main artical comign out in XXL.
Funny how she talks about her role in Talk to Me which I agree is one of my favorites in her repertoire.
What is your favorite Taraji Henson role?
(Thanks to Taraji fan Maya for the heads up!

via BrandWeek : Pepsi has tapped other celebrities to share their thoughts on the site’s six tenants: Love, laughter, hope, joy, beauty and wisdom. The next ad will feature That’s So Raven’s Raven-Symoné and then Queen Latifah. Singer Keyshia Cole is also featured on the site.
This is a GREAT conversation between Taraji Henson and Mary J. Blige. Check it out!
It’s time to hit the theaters because “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” has just officially hit screens across America!
When Madea, America’s favorite pistol-packing grandma, catches sixteen-year-old Jennifer and her two younger brothers looting her home, she decides to take matters into her own hands and delivers the young delinquents to the only relative they have: their aunt April. A heavy-drinking nightclub singer who lives off of her married boyfriend, April wants nothing to do with the kids. But her attitude begins to change when Sandino, a handsome Mexican immigrant looking for work, moves into April’s basement room. Making amends for his own troubled past, Sandino challenges April to open her heart and April soon realizes she must make the biggest choice of her life: between her old ways with Randy and the new possibilities of family, faith… and even true love.
The talented cast includes Taraji P. Henson, Tyler Perry, Mary J. Blige, Gladys Knight, Adam Rodriguez, Brian J, White, Hope Olaide Wilson and Kwesi Boakye.
Here is Taraji with some of the cast at the New York City premiere.

Also, today is Taraji’s Birthday!!!!! I’m sure it is a wonderfully crazy day for her. Let’s hit the theaters this weekend to support our girl!

Sorry I did not post this sooner good people, but I’ve had a mountain of work lately.
What I would do for more hours in the day!
Taraji spent time here in NYC yesterday. Check out these clips from Taraji on the Today Show and the Jimmy Fallon Show. The Jimmy Fallon interview is very cute… I’m glad he is rocking out late nite and they look like they had fun doing the interview.
Are you all ready to hit the theaters this weekend?!?!
Mark your calendars good people. Tyler Perry is doing a special on Wednesday September 9th at 11pm on TBS with our girl Taraji and many of the cast of “I Can Do Bad…“. This should be super cool so be sure to check it out. Rumor has it that Tyler might start a talk show after this. hmmmmm….
You can also stay in the know with Mr.Perry by checking him out on Facebook and Twitter.

We all know that Adam Rodriquez stars along side Taraji and Mary J. Blige in Tyler Perry’s new movie “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” coming out on September 11th. I think Adam is a great actor (not to mention a handsome devil) and I was very happy when I learned earlier this year that he was part of this project. Here is a pretty cool interview with Adam at Latina.com where he talks about working with Tyler and Taraji including the smooch that kept on going. My fellow CSI fans will get an interesting tidbit about next season as well.
I am very excited about the casting of this film and the more I hear about this movie, the more I can’t wait to see it!
Taraji is looking great in these new photos in the latest issue of Men’s Fitness! I also dig her words of wisdom for single ladies. Sage advice good people… sage advice.
Read the interview. / Check out the pics.

We are getting closer and closer people.
The new site for I Can Do Bad All By Myself just went live yesterday with loads of details on the movie. Check it out : http://www.icandobadmovie.com/.
And here is the lovely new poster. The fan in me says “Great Picture!“ and the web designer in me says “Great Graphic Design!“
What do you think?

For fans of CSI Miami you will recognize a certain someone. Very nice!

Our girl has done it again… Congratulations Taraji!
If you watched the show, what was your favorite part?

Check out the new official site with the official synopsis of the story and a very cool motion poster!
I’ve always liked Brian White and look forward to seeing him along side Taraji in Tyler Perry’s “I Can Do Bad…“ . Here we get more details on the plot :
LiveSteez: Tell me a little about the new film you’re in, Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself.
Brian White: My character’s name has actually changed from Raymond to Randy. Randy is married and has four kids of his own. Randy is Taraji P. Henson’s “married boyfriend.” Taraji’s character is a jazz singer in a night club. She drinks a lot, and I drink a lot. We keep each other down. I play the love interest who has a bad influence. I was excited about the role because it’s a cautionary tale to women. I have five sisters, so I try to be a good role model. Half of the time I’m trying to show them what the good guys looks like. The other half of the time, I’m trying to point out what I think a bad guy looks like - maybe not such an obvious bad guy. That’s what interested me in this role.
Check out the full interview here.

Taraji is guest starring in the premiere episode of the Cleveland show this fall. Check out the new trailer!
What do you think?
Once Taraji is done shooting “Date Night”, Taraji will be on her way to Bejing to shoot the Karate Kid remake “Kung Fu Kid”
We keep hearing sudden bursts of news about Will Smith’s remake of “The Karate Kid,” then the project seems to quiet down for awhile. Now, a new actor has signed on to star alongside Smith’s son and she’s a red-hot Oscar nominee coming off “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”
“I’m off to Beijing [soon] to work on a film,” actress Taraji P. Henson revealed to us Sunday afternoon on the red carpet of the MTV Movie Awards. “They’re remaking ‘The Karate Kid.’”
Keep it moving Taraji!
Taraji looked fabu at last nights MTV movie awards! Twilight swept the awards including the one our girl was up for, but there were a few fun moments like Andy Samberg’s opening and Bruno’s kooky entrance.
Ok… back to Taraji!
I just love a dress with a bustle and I think she rocked this little Roberto Cavalli number very, very well. For the full view, check out how Taraji kills it with a HOT pose for the MTV Fashion 360 cam. Nice. That’s our girl!

Since it’s start in 2001, the BET Awards has been a pretty cool show to catch in the summer. For more incentive, you have to watch it because Taraji is up for an award this year! Yay!
Best Actress
- Taraji P. Henson
- Angela Basset
- Rosario Dawson
- Beyonce
- Jennifer Hudson
The show is hosted by Jamie Foxx so it should be tons of fun.
Who else would you like to see win the “Best Actress” awards other then Taraji?

Alright folks… Taraji is nominated for an MTV Movie Award for “Best Female Performance”. Let’s help her win by voting. It is a simple sign up process and it is nice to have a say in who wins so SPEAK UP. Others in her category include Kate Winslet (The Reader), Angelina Jolie (“Wanted”), Anne Hathaway (“Bride Wars”) and Kristen Stewart (“Twilight”).
This will be her first MTV Movie Award so Vote! Vote! Vote!
The show airs on Sunday, May 31st at 9pm EST. Will you be watching?
Last week Taraji was in NYC and she stopped by the early show on CBS. Here are a few clips :
Here she spices up our life :
And here she is cooking biscuits with the hosts :
And last but not least, while we are showing clips from her visit to NYC, Taraji hits the Gucci store and almost gets hit by a car (but nothing bad happens), courtesy of TMZ both literally and figuratively.
What do you think of TMZ? Do you like the site and/or show?

The movie that helped put our girl Taraji on the map, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, will be out on DVD on May 5th. Pick it up at Amazon.com along with my favorites Talk to Me, Smokin’ Aces and Hustle & Flow and you will be good to go for a Taraji marathon!
Tell me… what are your favorite Taraji P. Henson movies?
The cast line-up for this comedy sounds great! Steve Catrell and Tina Fey both have my Thursday night locked down and what hot-blooded woman has not found themselves raising a brow over Common, Mark Wahlberg and James Franco? And they can act too… fabulous!
And last but in no way least, we of course have our girl, our pearl, our lovely lady… Taraji. Add this one to the list folks!
As per The Hollywood Reporter :
Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, Taraji P. Henson, Common and Jimmi Simpson are making plans for “Date Night,“ 20th Century Fox’s Steve Carell-Tina Fey comedy being directed by Shawn Levy. Leighton Meester and Kristen Wiig also have boarded the comedy.
The script, by Simon Kinberg and Aline McKenna, follows a couple whose routine night turns into much more than dinner and a movie when they are mistaken for somebody else.
Wahlberg will play a man working in private security, who deals with black ops and offers to help the couple, while Franco is a dim con man.
Henson, who was Oscar-nominated for her work in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,“ plays a good cop who doesn’t take things at face value. Common, next seen in “Terminator Salvation,“ and Simpson, who has an ongoing skit called “Lyle the Intern” on “Late Show With David Letterman,“ are detectives on the take.
Meester (“Gossip Girl”) is the couple’s baby-sitter, while Wiig (“Saturday Night Live”) is Fey’s best friend.
The movie starts shooting in Los Angeles next week.
Thank you to Divine over at EntertainmentRundown for this scan of the May 2009 Ebony with both Taraji AND Viola on the cover looking AWESOME. They are just glowing!

For those of you who keep writing and asking… yes, the gallery is in the works and I will have it up ASAP. Sorry but with this crappy economy, I am working constantly rather then being the woman of leisure I once was (ha!). Stay tuned!
Thank you Karen for the heads up on these previews. I can’t wait to watch the interview!
Preview 1 - Taraji talks about the Oscars
Preivew 2 - Taraji talks about her leading men
Preview 3 - Taraji talks about being an actress
Save the date folks! This is going to be a good one!
Mark your calendars for April 5th (check your local listings for time) and turn on cable/satellite channel TV One for the Taraji interview with host Cathy Hughes on the talk show TV One on One.
Taraji will talk about her family, her career and how her strong sense of self helped get her where she is today.
TV One is a new cable/satellite television network, programming primarily to African American adults. TV One offers a broad range of lifestyle and entertainment-oriented programming that respects values and reflects intellectual and cultural diversity.
Pssst… if there are any video gurus out there who would like to find a way to get the interview online for us that would be great!

Wow! This is a major trio of awesome women. Taraji, Iman and Serena all look lovely welcoming Spring on the April 2009 cover of Essence magazine.
Keep an eye on your local newsstand and make sure you pick up a copy!

Hold up. Wait a minute. Taraji just put some groove in it!
This is a taste of the shoot she did for Blackmen Magazine. It is oh-so-fresh and I’m really digging the way it looks like a cartoon. You know with Taraji it is sexy yet tasteful because that’s how a real Diva does it.
Riding high off the success of his latest Madea flick, Tyler Perry is ready to move and shake with his next production “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” which will star our girl Taraji. The film is about an alcoholic jazz singer forced to take care of her deceased sister’s three children.
I Can Do Bad All By Myself, is based off of one of Perry’s plays. Perry will write, direct, produce and star in the film as his signature character, Madea. Production is scheduled to begin on March 16 at the new Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. Taraji and Tyler worked together in the 2008 film “The Family That Prays”.
Did you see “The Family That Prays”? If so what did you think of it?
We came, we saw and Taraji conquered looking spectacular at the 81st Academy Award ceremony.
My dad always told me “it isn’t if you win, but how you play the game” and that is so true in this case.
Taraji’s talent and heart got her this far and these qualities will undoubtedly take her further. Not to mention that with such a strong and eloquent presentation for the best supporting actress award by Eva Marie Saint, Whoopie Goldberg (rocking a leopard print dress and showing off her tattoo! Yay Whoopie!), Tilda Swinton (love her!), Angelica Houston (fierce!) and Goldie Hawn - you knew then that all the nominees were undeniable winners in their field.
So while I was cheering for my girl to win, I’m happy to see her get such honorable recognition.
And about that Roberto Cavalli dress.. one word. Haute!!!!!

How cool is Alfie Woodard? She hosted a dinner party in honor of Taraji and Viola Davis for their Oscar nominations. We know that Taraji is up “Best Supporting Actress” for her wonderful part in The Curious case of Benjamin Button and Viola Davis is up for her role in the movie Doubt which I have yet to see but look forward to coming up in my netflix queue.
And how hot is Taraji’ dress? This is my favorite that she’s worn in recent weeks (more pictures of her hitting the town and making rounds as of late will be up in the gallery when it goes live). Our girl looks grrrrrreat!
Ladies who attended include Halle Berry, Regina Hall, Regina King, Sanaa Lathan, Kimberly Elise, Angela Bassett, and Tracy Ellis Ross among others. So much talent in one room. I am sure that fun was had by all!

Who-ho! Last night Taraji attended the 40th NAACP Image Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Curious Case of Bejamin Button.
Kudos to you Taraji!

It is about time we start to see some professional photo shoots (not to mention the cover) with our girl! She looks awesome with her top hat, tails and fishnets. Do it Taraji! That is the best I’ve seen Jet look in a while.
I really like this look and the makeup is perfect. She knows how to rock a sexy, smokey eye.
Bottomline… tasteful, dramatic and fun. Love it! Kudos to Jet!
More in the gallery which will go live shortly. Stay tuned!
Pssst… If you ever see Taraji in a magazine please be sure to holla so I can track it down… thanks!
I found this to be an interesting article.
With all the hoop-la going on the with Oscars it is great to see Taraji taking the time to celebrate such an integral part of the production for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
In her remarks, Henson, an Oxon Hill High School and Howard University graduate, discussed how her life has changed, thanks to the film. She said when she used to walk a red carpet, people would say, “That’s the girl from so and so.“ But now, “that girl has a name.“
That’s right! Keep moving forward Taraji!
Tomorrow is our lucky day because no matter what you schedule is, you can either catch Taraji on Ellen in the afternoon, or late night on Conan O’brien. Yay! Check your local listings.

Today the nominations for the 81st Academy Awards were announced with Taraji up for “Best Actress in Supporting Role” for her part as “Queenie” in The Curious Case of Bejamin Button. This is Taraji’s first nomination and she dedicated it to her late father.
The critically acclaimed film staring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett has been nominated for 13 Oscars including Best Actor and Best Film.
The 81st Acadeny Awards will air Live on February 22nd.
It is wonderful to see the Academy acknowledge Taraji’s amazing talent!

Alright… call up your girlfriends and be sure to catch Not Easily Broken this weekend starring our girl Taraji and the handsome Morris Chestnut.
The story is about a married couple who have been married for several years. He is unhappy with his career and she is on the verge of stardom in her’s and they are both trying to figure out the direction of their relationship as it teeters on the edge after the flaws are highlighted by car accident.
The movie is based on the book by Bishop T.D. Jakes who is also the producer.
